"Racist ROBERT MUGABE's THUGGERY and THEFT Re-visited"

-Racist ROBERT MUGABE's THUGGERY and THEFT Re-visited-

Prominent George Ayittey and Walter Williams RE-visit Robert Mugabe's Thuggery and Theft for the readers.

RACIST Robert Mugabe, President-For-Life of Zimbabwe:
His Thuggery and Theft Re-visited.

============================================

"Mugabe's wife, Grace, has also been actively participating in the thuggery and theft.

Mugabe Grace has personally assisted in the country's land reform by showing up on one 3,000 acre farm with her husband's troops, declaring, 'I'm taking over this farm.'

The white owner was arrested, and black farmer workers were told to hit the road." -- (Walter Williams).

============================================

In 1965, Rhodesia won its independence and Robert Mugabe, a Marxist-socialist, became its leader. As Hutt might have predicted, racist Mugabe began his oppression of other African people.

Starting in 1983, he used his North Korean-trained Fifth Brigade to brutally massacre thousands of Ndebele civilians, a brutality that included hacking to death and disembowelment.

Later in the '80s, Mugabe started attacking rule of law, harassing and suppressing Zimbabwe's free press and news media, and arresting dissenters. Opposition party leaders are now imprisoned and faced with kangaroo-court trials. Just recently, Mugabe ensured his president-for-life status by openly rigging national elections. ---(W. Williams).

Mugabe is ruthlessly exploiting the land issue to fan racial hatred, solidify his vote among landless rural voters, maintain his grip on power and to divert attention from his disastrous policies and ill-fated misadventures in the Congo. The economic needs of the country are being sacrificed to his desperate search for survival.
-- (G. Ayittey).

The Lancaster accord, the legal basis of Zimbabwe's independence, established a land-reform program under which land was to be purchased from white farmers for redistribution to landless peasants.

Australia, Britain, France, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, the United States and the World Bank provided funds for the program.

In 1991, the government of Zimbabwe passed the Land Acquisition Act, the object of which was to achieve a more equitable distribution of land, since the white minority held over 70 percent of Zimbabwe's arable land.

At independence, the government of Robert Mugabe had made such a promise to the landless peasantry. But he never kept his promises.

It's this vision that has prompted Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe to target 95 percent of white-owned farms for redistribution. His Land Acquisition Act calls for the eviction of over 4,000 white farmers. Over 2,900 white farmers have already been evicted.

"Mugabe's wife, Grace, has been actively participating in the thuggery and theft. Mugabe Grace has personally assisted in the country's land reform by showing up on one 3,000 acre farm with her husband's troops, declaring, "I'm taking over this farm." The white owner was arrested, and black farmer workers were told to hit the road.

More than 1,000 farms have been occupied. Curiously, 10 such occupied farms are owned by black opposition leaders.

Moreover, money provided by the British government to facilitate the resettlement of landless peasants has been used to purchase land for wealthy individuals - cronies of Robert Mugabe. --- (New African, September 1994, 32).

Land purchased with funds provided by the Britain for resettlement was parceled out to senior officials in Mugabe's administration, security services and ruling party bosses as part of a patronage system.

In 1994, for example, 20 farms were secured from white farmers for distribution to the peasants, but they were immediately grabbed by high-ranking government officials:

1. "The local press revealed that the Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr. Charles Utete, the Deputy Secretary for Commerce and Industry, James Chininga and Harare's first black mayor, Dr. Tizirai Gwata, are among those involved.

2. So far, the government has distributed more than 1 million acres. But the land went to 400 wealthy Zimbabweans, most of them Mugabe cronies. Such grotesque mismanagement of the program prompted Britain to withdraw financial support in 1992, after contributing more than $60 million. The remaining donors have suspended about $10 million in land-reform aid.

3. A fund for victims of violence was looted by politicians. Contracts for public works go to Mugabe cronies and "while the urban poor were rioting about food prices, a fleet of new Mercedes cars was ordered for the 50-odd cabinet ministers"
----(The Economist, 15 August 1998, 34)

In 1998, additional 24 farms of the Marula Estate in Matabeleland were acquired, ostensibly for resettlement. The land, totaling 300 square miles, was divided among 47 government officials while 40,000 impoverished Zimbabweans remained crammed in the neighboring Semukwe Communal Area. Said the Chief of Semukwe:

"They moved out the rich white man and moved in the rich black man. There is a change of color only"
----(London Telegraph, March 2, 2000; p.3).

Mugabe has borrowed a page out of Idi Amin's playbook. In the early 1970s, Amin expelled Asian businessmen and other non-nationals from Uganda, seized their commercial properties and distributed them to his cronies. --(G. Ayittey)

In his traditional "blame-game", the DESPOT ROBERT MUGABE faults everyone else and everything (from slavery, colonialism, white people, blacks and any Zimbabweans who disagree with his politics of thuggery and stealing, and anything else in between) but himself for dragging the once prosperous country of Zimbabwe into a complete bankruptcy and imminent collapse.

"Only Genetically LAZY PEOPLE from INHERENTLY LAZY SOCIETIES that put the BLAME for their INEPTITUDE on OTHERS"
--(Osa Kingsley in New African, August, 1990; p.45).

"Soon we'll see pictures of emaciated children flashing across our television screens and calls for food assistance. The U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Food Programme (WFP) estimate that millions of Zimbabweans face imminent starvation.

The politically correct cause of the Zimbabwe's looming famine is drought.........Mugabe's politics is a better explanation of why millions of his countrymen face starvation." --- (W. Williams)

MUGABE IS TO "BE DONE AWAY WITH"

"If you had told me a year ago that I would be in the streets rioting, I would have said you were insane.

But then again, if you told me I would be praying to God to deliver us from Robert Mugabe a year ago, I would have said the same thing. I am not a violent man; I am not an especially religious man.

But whatever it takes for Zimbabwe to finally be rid of this man, I am willing to do."
-- (Josiah Makawa, a 24-year-old Zimbawean in Harare (The Washington Post, Nov 23, 2000; p.A45).

The international community and friends of Africa can help the people of Zimbabwe, not by sucking up to the wicked Mugabe. Robert Mugabe is to be removed from the Presidency of Zimbabwe and brought to justice to answer for his:

- Brutally massacring, including hacking to death and disembowelment, of thousands of Ndebele civilians.

- Savagely killing many other black/white Zimbabweans including theft, and countless other heinous crimes.
